What is the best way to deal with the wild hog problem many states in the USA are facing? Getting the right hog trap.

At we build only the strongest and most versatile hog traps. Our latest hog trap incorporates a trailer hitch ball on the hog trap itself as well as a set of back wheels so that you can easily pull it out to the hog infested area simply by attaching it to your 4 wheeler, ATV, or truck trailer hitch.

Feral pigs are running rampant, destroying crops, killing wildlife and spreading disease everywhere they go. They’ve been spotted all the way from Florida to Texas to California to Michigan and in New York.

It's estimated there are at least 4 million of them nationwide, but it is impossible to count them all so there may be a lot more than that. Officials say they cause more than $8 million in damages each year. The only way to fight this problem is by catching or killing these hogs and you need a superior hog trap to do the job properly in either case.

Our heavy duty hog trap has many features which makes it ideal for wild/feral hogs. The trap is designed to act as a guillotine trap so that there is no possible escape. It's also strong enough to catch big hogs or other large problem wildlife. If you place plenty of bait inside the trap the first hog that enters won't be able to quickly eat it all and other hogs will follow it inside. Once inside, they can't escape. This is a key feature of the trap.

Our most common type of hog trap is known as a box trap with the guillotine door. These can range from small single hog traps to larger traps. With our larger traps you can catch several hogs at a time. Most of our traps will fit in the bed of a pickup truck so that they can be moved from place to place relatively easily and they are the most common style traps you'll normally see being used. Ours also has the trailer hitch ball as mentioned above. If you need a custom trap, we can do just about anything you ask for.

The construction materials for these hog traps are welded wire panel and either angle iron or tube steel which is welded together to create a very strong and sturdy metal cage/trap.

Another type of trap uses what they call “saloon doors”. They are similar to the guillotine door but it includes two doors that swing from either side and meet in the center, just like the old saloon doors from the 1800s wild west. The hogs have to push their way in and once inside they can't get out because the door angles in when closed and they aren't able to lift the door to open it. Some traps with root doors also have a mechanism that holds the door open with a trip that allows the door to remain open until a hog enters and trips the release allowing the door to close behind it. This is kind of like the guillotine design but from what our customers tell us, the guillotine design seems to work better.
